Hoy no me puedo levantar

Hoy no me puedo levantar (Today I Can’t Get Up) was a jukebox musical based on the songs of the Spanish musical group Mecano. The show, titled after Mecano’s first LP, released in 1982, sought to reflect the movida madrileña (Madrid Movida), a countercultural movement that emerged during the early 1980s and promoted alternative culture and social change. Tino Sanchez played a stronger creative role, working closely with Nacho Cano and contributing his experience in choreography, stage direction and musical theatre. The play premiered on April 7, 2005, at the Rialto Theater in Madrid. A year later, the Mexico City version at the Telmex Cultural Center gave Tino a particularly relevant role, working closely with the creative team to develop and put the musical together for Mexico.
