Born in Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Tino Sanchez began his professional life in a very different field, studying Administration and Management before following his instinct towards performance. At twenty-one, he received a scholarship to study performing arts at Urdang in London—an experience that opened the door to an international career in theatre, dance and creative production.

As a performer, Tino worked extensively in London’s West End, appearing in productions including Miss Saigon, West Side Story, Fame, Chicago, Tonight’s the Night, Hey! Mr Producer, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Celebration and Oh! What a Night. Those years gave him a deep understanding of the discipline, precision and collective energy required to bring large-scale productions to life.

His practice gradually expanded beyond performance into choreography, stage direction and creative leadership. In 2003, he was invited by Nacho Cano to contribute to the creation of Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar, later taking on choreographic and resident-director responsibilities for productions in Spain and Mexico. His subsequent work included directing and choreographing productions such as Quisiera Ser and Don Juan a Sangre y Fuego in Madrid, alongside teaching and mentoring performers internationally.

In 2012, Tino co-founded Omaggio Performing Company with Peeya Rai Choudhuri in Goa. Together, they developed a practice that connected Western performance training with Indian philosophies, supporting artists while creating multidisciplinary works including Circadian, Himalayan Knot and The Loom. Their work received recognition at the WOW Awards Asia in 2018.

Today, through OmaggioCrea, Tino brings together decades of experience in performance, movement, choreography and theatrical direction. His approach is instinctive yet precise, transforming ideas into environments and experiences that feel visually distinctive, emotionally grounded and alive.
