Omaggio at Lodhy Art Festival
Created for the vibrant public setting of Lodhi Art Festival, this site-specific performance brought together dance, physical theatre and aerial movement.
The creative challenge was to introduce aerial performance into an outdoor street environment without relying on conventional rigging or existing structural support. Omaggio responded by designing a freestanding apparatus that became both the technical solution and a central part of the visual language of the performance.
Reinventing the possibilities of performance
For Lodhi Art Festival, Omaggio was invited to create an outdoor performance combining movement, physical theatre and aerial work.
With no existing structure available for aerial rigging, we designed a freestanding apparatus that became both the technical solution and a central part of the performance.

Built for the street
Inspired by the colour, movement and energy of Delhi’s streets, the performance transformed the festival space into a living stage.
Contemporary movement, circus and physical theatre unfolded around the specially designed apparatus, bringing the performers into close conversation with the architecture, the audience and the atmosphere of the neighbourhood.
Designing around the challenge
The apparatus was developed through a careful process of design, testing and rehearsal. Every measurement needed to support balance, movement and performer safety while remaining visually integrated into the work.
Rather than concealing the technical solution, Omaggio made it part of the performance itself—a functional structure that shaped the choreography and gave the production its distinctive identity.
